Hi, I'm Mary

Trust. Authenticity. Perseverance.

In private practice, I work with women and teens to address, anxiety and depression concerns. I believe that when we stop people pleasing and create better boundaries for ourselves, we become happier. Learning to be kind and compassionate to yourself and developing healthy self talk is so important. High expectations, shame, blame and judgment from others can affect how we perceive ourselves and how we allow others to treat us. Let’s begin your journey to self-love, self compassion and peace.

Adult And Adolescent Counseling In The Hilton Head Area

Our relationships are often the cornerstone of our happiness but sometimes, they can also be the foundation of our pain. Past and current damage can sabotage our attempts at living the life we deserve and prevent us from uncovering our authentic self.
Everyone feels stuck at some point in their life. It’s part of the human condition. We all, from time to time, come up against barriers, real or imagined, created by others or ourselves. Often before people enter therapy, they’ve tried many things to make changes in their lives in order to feel better. Nothing has worked–at least for the long term. In a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, clients discover, and often rediscover, their own strengths to heal and thrive.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, checks, Visa, Venmo, Zelle and Mastercard. Payment for individual and couple sessions is due at the time of service.

What is your cancellation policy?

24 hours notice is required for cancelled or rescheduled appointments. There is a $180 fee for appointments that are not cancelled 24 hours in advance. Of course, emergencies and illness are considered.

What about confidentiality?

The relationship between therapist and client is protected by law and information cannot be disclosed without written consent. The only exceptions are if and when there is suspected child abuse/neglect or when the client threatens serious harm to self or others, in which case every effort is made to ensure the safety of those affected as required by law.

In private practice, I work with individuals and couples to address a wide range of concerns, including trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues and parenting. A significant area of my interest focuses on the emotional, psychological and physical struggles associated with post traumatic stress as a result of past or current trauma. Depression, anger and anxiety are symptoms of unresolved issues. I provide a safe, therapeutic environment to allow my patients to slowly rehabilitate. Patients can expect to be able to enjoy simple pleasures again and learn to trust those around them.
